Scottish Heavy Athletics
Experience the thrill and tradition of Scotland’s ancient athletic heritage as professional and amateur competitors vie for honors in events such as hammer throwing, stone putting, weight for height and distance, and sheaf and caber tossing.
The Caledonian Club of San Francisco was honored to host the 2026 Men’s Scottish Heavy Athletics World Championships, sponsored by Rogue Fitness. After a weekend of thrilling competition, 2022 and 2023 World Champion John Van Beuren regained his crown.
This year’s Games also celebrated our 50th Annual U.S. Invitational Heavy Athletics Championships, where six-time World Champion Meagan McKee of San Jose won the 2026 Women’s Pro Class National Championship.
